I-Series: Select performance properties without changing materials or new approval risks

With I-Series, engineers and procurement teams can confidently select material performance properties from the same composition platform, without risking the design process. Built on a polyurethane platform with a narrow cell size distribution, it facilitates selection based on specific firmness, tensile, tear and elongation requirements. Ranging in densities from 5-30 pcf and thicknesses of 0.040-4 inches or more, I-Series maintains material continuity to reduce requalification risks and time-to-market.

Reduce sourcing complexity across many applications

I-Series lets teams meet changing design requirements without wholesale material change risks like regulatory reporting, skin contact concerns, air volatiles and more. Because all grades are built on the same underlying chemistry, procurement teams can rely on in-field performance data rather than qualifying entirely new materials. This simplifies decision-making, making it easier to consolidate suppliers and standardize material selection across applications. Plus, low MOQs and downgauging options can align material selection with actual product demand, minimizing excess inventory and capital lockup.

Dimensional stability

Excellent compression set under repeat load cycles.

Tensile, tear and elongation

Balanced TTE performance across multiple firmness and resiliency profiles.

Product stewardship

REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, GADSL, TSCA, PFAS, Conflict Minerals and many more.

Data-based production management

SCADA-driven process control keeps materials consistent from run to run.

Optimize product performance without restarting design approvals

Predictably choose damping, energy return and support by moving up or down in density within the same product platform. All 49 grades are engineered within a controlled formulation framework, allowing for specific properties to be prioritized based on application. Because the underlying chemistry stays the same, these changes can be made without triggering requalification.

Construction, transportation, medical devices and industrial manufacturing

When products require stability under heat, cycle rates and compression duration, I-Series excels. It was specifically developed for demanding, repeat-use environments where dimensional stability and durability are critical. From transportation and footwear to industrial equipment and medical devices, it performs reliably across applications that require long-term material consistency under load for up to seven years under normal conditions.

hyPURcel I-Series property sheets

Available in rolls and sheets with custom widths up to 62” wide and splice-free lengths up to 100’, skived to your required gauge. hyPURcel foams can be enhanced with functional additives such as antimicrobial, fire retardants, antioxidants and UV stabilizers. Value-added finishing processes include PSA, film, slitting, sheeting and fabric laminations. Custom color matching is also available.

Understanding hyPURcel naming conventions: The first two digits indicate density (lbs/ft3), and the last two indicate compression deflection (psi) per ASTM standards. The “L” represents low-resiliency as an energy-absorbing product with fast recovery and low hysteresis loss.
