IMPACT ABSORPTION, PRESSURE MANAGEMENT AND VIBRATION DAMPING
V-Series: A viscoelastic polyurethane foam engineered for energy absorption
When performance depends on protecting people or components from impact, sustained load or vibration, material behavior is critical. V-Series is designed to absorb and dissipate energy by reducing peak forces and distributing pressure under load. Originally developed for medical comfort applications, it’s now used in higher-density formulations for protective gear and industrial environments. Its performance is defined through controlled hysteresis loss, recovery rate, density and IFD — providing engineers with design versatility for vibration damping, pressure distribution and impact force management.
AVOID DESIGN COMPROMISES
Select from proven material behaviors to manage force without sacrificing your product vision
In many applications, improving protective qualities introduces new constraints. A choice as simple as selecting a thicker foam could impact how the overall system performs and appears. V-Series is designed to absorb and dissipate energy by controlling viscoelastic behavior, allowing product engineers to manage performance for desired energy-absorbing behaviors without requiring a complete rework of the surrounding design system.

TRUSTED IN HUMAN AND MECHANICAL APPLICATIONS
Orthopedic soft goods, hospital bedding, surgical tables, recovery surfaces, protective gear and performance footwear
Across applications, the challenge rarely changes: managing force without introducing design compromises. From reducing sustained pressure on the human body to absorbing repeat impact and vibration, material behavior directly impacts performance, comfort and durability. V-Series integrates protection when it’s needed without altering overall system response targets or sacrificing long-term reliability.
hyPURcel V-Series property sheets
Available in rolls and sheets with custom widths up to 62” wide and splice-free lengths up to 100’, skived to your required gauge. hyPURcel foams can be enhanced with functional additives such as antimicrobial, fire retardants, antioxidants and UV stabilizers. Value-added finishing processes include PSA, film, slitting, sheeting and fabric laminations. Custom color matching is also available.
Understanding hyPURcel naming conventions: The first two digits indicate density (lbs/ft3), and the last two indicate either measure or correlated Indentation Force Deflection (IFD) in lbs.
